Complete Mischke Broadcast Archives

Excuse the bold type, but I am most pleased to finally present a program that I have literally been in search of for years.  And that program is an entire broadcast of The Afternoon Saloon featuring Don Vogel and Tom Mischke.  I believe this originally aired back in November or December of 1992 -- a mere five or six months into Mischke's radio career!  For those of you not aware of the history, Tom Mischke began his career at AM 1500 as a sidekick to one of the funniest talk show hosts I've ever come across -- a fellow by the name of Don Vogel.  Sadly, Vogel is no longer with us and audio from his years at KSTP is hard to come by.

Even harder to come by is audio featuring the time that Mischke and Vogel worked together -- a brief stint of only a year-and-a-half.  But to finally be able to listen to one of these shows is a treat beyond belief.  What amazes me even more is that this program happens to feature the infamous "Sinatra Mass" bit -- an infamous radio moment that has since become legendary!

This show comes courtesy of an anonymous former KSTP employee and from the fine folks at radiotapes.com.  If you're a fan of local radio, you'll definitely want to check this site out.  It features countless historical clips of local radio shows -- some going all the way back to 1941.  These fine folks have my eternal gratitude for providing such a fine copy of a complete Afternoon Saloon.  I only hope you will all enjoy this as much as I have.  Now kick back, pour yourself a cold one, and make that trip you never thought you'd make again -- that one last trip back to the Afternoon Saloon...   ONE HOUR
